America was built on the ideals of freedom, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. But as we came together to celebrate our country’s independence, we were shaken once again by tragedy: another mass shooting, more lives lost, and countless families left grieving.
In our wildest imaginations, we never thought we’d be confronting such terror here on our own soil. And yet, this has become a devastating reality that no community, family, or gathering is immune to.
A Nation in Need of Change
The answers to this crisis may seem so clear, and yet our nation remains at a standstill on gun reform and public safety. Just this year, there have been over 300 mass shootings. This grim reality is incomprehensible to many around the world, and it should be to us as well. We have to ask ourselves: do we still look like the land of the free and a united people under God?
Turning to God in Our Weariness
Many of us feel emotionally and mentally drained from the unrelenting loss and violence. The weight of this burden is real. But as daughters and sons of the Most High, we have a refuge and a source of strength beyond what this world offers. Now more than ever, we must seek God to be our deliverer, our protector, and our very present help in these troubled times.
We can’t let weariness pull us from doing good. Let us continue to hold on, with steady resolve, to our faith and our call to seek God’s face on behalf of our families, our communities, and our country.
Encouragement to Stay Faithful
This season of grief and loss demands resilience and a commitment to prayer. So, even as our hearts break, let us not grow weary in our pursuit of peace and healing for our nation. We serve a God who sees, who hears, and who promises never to leave us.
In this difficult time, may we remain united in love and faith, finding courage to keep moving forward. Together, let’s be a beacon of hope, reflecting the love and light of God in our actions, our prayers, and our commitment to change.
